I am deeply honored by this invitation. Thistle and Thorn (Graham Marlowe) will play at the this community fundraiser for the museum along with the Water Is Life/No Mine! puppet show by members of Madison Action for Mining Alternatives, MAMA and the Madison Infoshop.  — the people are rising again this Indigenous People’s Day 2013!

January 26th 6PM-1AM Madison, WI Wilmar Community Center 953 Jenifer St. Thistle and Thorns will go on at 9 PM ahead of Tani Diakite and the Afrofunkstars and the Beat Road Blues Band. This will be an evening of high entertainment as we raise money for the Bad River Indigenous Tribe to support their fight for treaty rights and clean water in Wisconsin. $10-$15 suggested donation with a chance to win some really nice prizes from local businesses.

This will be a fund raiser and kick-off for the Cycles of Revolution ride to Chicago to protest the NATO summits, May 19th-21st. Cycles of Revolution is a 2012 incarnation of the Grassroutes Caravan. Our kick-off event will include information and workshops about the bike ride and the NATO summits in Chicago, music by Tani Dakate and the Malean Blues Band, Page Foster, Dharmonic Deluxe, Thistle and Thorns and yummy treats from local restaurants and Madison Food Not Bombs. There will be a giant HUMMER piñata to smash, raffle prizes from local businesses and more fun TBA!
